"I cannot thank Jo Ann enough for working with my son Benjamin for over a 3 year period. Jo Ann started working with Ben at a time when he was seemingly well behind in his speech development. While it was an uneasy time for me thinking about my son’s development, Benjamin always looked forward to his weekly meetings with “Miss Jojo”. Jo Ann made their time together fun and engaging, and Benjamin’s progress improved significantly. I can sincerely say that I believe Jo Ann loves what she does, and I couldn’t be happier that Benjamin was able to work with her. "

James M. Keddie - Williamsville, New York

"The speech and language therapy my son Lucas went through was incredibly helpful!! Miss JoJo, his speech therapist, helped him navigate and learn his skills with such patience. I could see visible changes in my son’s speech in a short time. Soon Lucas was able to say vocabulary words like ocean animals in simple sentences, attend and follow directions, and ask and answer questions. He was so eager to learn. Lucas was able to focus and improve his language skills. I am so happy with the progress Lucas made when working with Miss JoJo."

David Williams - Tonawanda, New York

"As a Speech Therapist, Jo Ann Gramlich met all our expectations. Speech is important and requires focus and participation on the part of both the child and the therapist. Miss JoJo worked well with Derek. His treatment improved his ability to talk, read, and advance in language skills. Brooke, his older sister was motivated to help out as well. Every month, Miss JoJo would change things up by using a theme-based teaching approach to keep the kids interested. Today, at the age of 10, Derek is a bright educated student, that is not afraid to ask questions. He loves to read and call out plays during his football games. He’s also very interested in educating himself on bass fishing. The kids looked forward to speech therapy on every level and because of this, I would strongly recommend Miss JoJo."

Melissa Ferraro - Cheektowaga, NY

"We are beyond grateful for the incredible work Jo Ann has done with our grandson. When we started, his speech was significantly delayed, and we were concerned about his ability to communicate effectively. Thanks to Jo Ann’s dedication, expertise, and patience, we saw a dramatic improvement in his speech. He is now able to express himself clearly and confidently, and we have watched him blossom into a much more outgoing and happier child. Jo Ann not only provided exceptional therapy but also empowered us with tools and strategies to continue supporting his development at home. We can't recommend Jo Ann highly enough—she has truly made a world of difference in our grandson's life."

Lori Cervi - Lancaster, NY

"Both my sons had Jo Ann as a speech therapist. We were very blessed to be matched up with such a great therapist. My oldest started with her first and shortly after my younger son was also having some speech issues. Jo Ann was able to help him too. They both received such great results. She connects so well with the children by getting down to their level and to them, it's just another fun day of play! So, from the bottom of our hearts thank you! "

Dayna , Ashton, and Ryan - North Carolina

"My son had the privilege of receiving speech therapy with Ms. JoAnn both in-person and virtually. The abundance of knowledge, patience, and interpersonal skills that Ms. JoAnn implemented with my son was truly life-changing. The progression he made under her teaching prepared him for success as he entered elementary school. In fact, Austin made such tremendous progress that he was dismissed for receiving speech therapy at the conclusion of first grade. It is without a doubt that this was my son’s outcome because of the early intervention strategies that Ms. JoAnn instilled in him."

Lisa Jones - Lancaster, New York

"Our son has been receiving speech therapy for a few years and this Spring and Summer he continued his classes with Miss JoJo. I was able to observe their first session together and was excited about their instant rapport. Miss JoJo was patient, presented the lesson with a fun and engaging game, and provided speech correction as needed. She was communicative with me at the end of sessions, explaining what they worked on for the day which allowed for us to continue practicing at home. We are hoping our son crosses paths with her, again, in kindergarten, and we’d recommend her services to anyone with a child in need of speech therapy support! "

Asia Becton - Amherst, NY

"My grandson had the honor of being serviced by Ms. Jo Ann both in person and virtually during COVID. The engaging lessons and rigor implemented by Ms. Jo Ann held the attention of my grandson from the age of three until kindergarten. Her nurturing presence and sincere love that she had for my grandson was evident from day one. He thrived under her teaching and transferred strategies taught during lessons to his daily life. Ms. Jo Ann is a friend to our family to this day. Her kindness and love of speech therapy has blessed my grandson tremendously. Any child who can learn from Ms. Jo Ann is fortunate and will be prepared for success."

Do you offer speech therapy coaching sessions for parents of toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children?

We offer speech therapy coaching sessions for parents and caregivers of children starting as early as 12 months up to first and second grade. These early years are critical for speech and language development as the spoken word develops naturally as a result of various types of stimulation. We are committed to helping you empower your child to reach their full communication potential.

How long are the speech therapy coaching sessions?

We offer 30 and 45-minute virtual coaching sessions providing focus and direction tailored to you and your child’s needs. Our comprehensive speech therapy coaching services cover every aspect of language development, ensuring that your child builds strong, effective communication skills.

What do your speech therapy coaching sessions offer parents, caregivers, and/or educators?

These sessions offer guidance, evidence-based strategies, and hands-on activities to help improve your child's language skills. By providing parents and caregivers with the resources, tools, and knowledge to actively support their child's language development, these coaching sessions can have a significant impact on your child's progress, overall well-being, and future success.

What speech and language domains are targeted during your coaching sessions?

Our coaching sessions target a variety of speech and language areas including receptive language (understanding words), expressive language (using words), articulation (production of sounds in words), phonology (pattern of sounds in language), and social interaction (interactions with others).

How do I know if my child needs support related to their communication skills?

Red flags for speech delays can include the absence of jargon, word approximations, first true words, word combinations, not speaking 50 to 300 words by age 2, and the inability to follow simple directions and attend. Other signs include difficulty producing specific sounds in words, problems understanding a child's speech, and when a child is not engaging in typical back-and-forth communication.

What are standard developmental language milestones?

Developmental Language Milestones are various language skills that can be acquired during the important expanding period of birth through five years of age (charts expand to higher age levels). Although each child acquires language at a different rate due to individual differences, parents need to have an understanding of the basic language milestones that their child will acquire. These skills allow parents to know what to expect next. How your child talks, plays, learns, and interacts with others determines important clues about your child’s language development. If you are unsure of your child’s language abilities, booking a consultation is a great starting point!

What are some examples of specific development language milestones?

By age 1, most children should be saying a few words; by age 2, they typically have an expressive vocabulary of 50 to 300 words. By age 3, children have an expressive vocabulary of between 900 and 1,000 words and often speak in short simple sentences.

Are sessions in-person or virtual?

We offer 30 and 45-minute virtual coaching sessions. Virtual sessions provide flexibility and convenience.
